Christian Survival Prepping for Peace of Mind
Many people are turning to survival prepping as a way to protect themselves and their families in case of emergencies, but for Christians, the idea of prepping can be a bit conflicting. On one hand, we are called to trust in God and have faith that He will provide for us. On the other hand, we are also called to be wise and prepared.
So how can Christians reconcile these two beliefs? In this article, we'll explore the concept of Christian survival prepping and how it can be done in a way that aligns with our faith.
Understanding the Purpose
There's an old adage about a Christian man whose boat capsized in the ocean. The Coast Guard came in a helicopter and tried to save him, but he refused saying God would save him. Another boat came by and threw him a rope, but again he declined. After a big wave crashed over his head, he drowned and went to heaven, and asked God: "Why didn't you save me?" God responded, "What were you expecting? I sent you a helicopter and boat!"
The goal of Christian prepping is neither to live in fear nor to put absolute our trust in our own abilities while leaving others to fend for themselves. Instead, it is about being responsible and taking practical steps to ensure the safety and well-being of ourselves and our loved ones. As Christians, we can view prepping as a way to be good stewards of the resources and blessings that God has given us. Will you be ready when you're called upon to fly the helicopter or steer the boat?
Start with the Basics
When it comes to being a survivalist prepper, it's important to start with the basics. This includes having a supply of food, water, and other essential items that can sustain you and your family for at least three days. As Christians, we can also include items such as Bibles, prayer books, and other spiritual resources in our survival kits. These items can provide comfort and strength during difficult times.
Focus on Community
One of the key principles of Christianity is community and helping others. This should also be reflected in our approach to survival prepping. Instead of solely focusing on our own needs, we should also consider how we can help our neighbors and those in need during an emergency. This can include sharing resources, offering assistance, and even forming a community of like-minded individuals who can support each other in times of crisis.
Trust in God
As Christians, we believe that He is in control and will provide for us in all circumstances. This does not mean that we should not take practical steps to prepare, but it does mean that we should not let fear or worry consume us. Instead, we can trust in God's plan and have faith that He will guide us through any challenges that may come our way. Don't be a doomsday prepper, be a faithful follower. Let us be wise and prepared, but also have faith and trust in God's plan for our lives.
